General Policies and Procedure

Educational Leave
Any registered student, in good academic standing may request an educational leave. Students must request an educational leave in writing, in advance, including an explanation of their reasons for seeking the leave and a statement of when they intend to resume academic work. The completed written letter is to be submitted for approval to the Student Relations Office. The minimum initial leave will be one full semester; the maximum will be one calendar year. No computer facilities, no library privileges, and no student services are available to a student on educational leave.

General Misconduct
By enrolling in IICUT, students accept the responsibility for complying with all applicable laws and the University policies. The University expects students to show respect for the rights of others and for lawful authority, to represent themselves truthfully and accurately at all times, to respect private and public property, to fulfill contractual obligations including those that are financially made with the University, and to take responsibility for their own actions and the actions of their guests. Any student on school ground may be expelled, suspended or placed on probation for one or more of the following causes:
  1. Obstruction or disruption of University activities.
  2. Physical abuse of University property or the threat of such physical abuse.
  3. Theft of University property.
  4. Unauthorized entry into and unauthorized use of University property.
  5. Unauthorized entry into the opposite sex bathroom/restroom.
  6. On University property, the sale or knowing possession of dangerous drugs.
  7. Knowing possession or use of explosives, dangerous chemicals or deadly weapons on school property.
  8. Engaging in lewd, indecent, or obscene behavior on school property or at a school function.
  9. Abusive behavior, which causes, or is likely to cause, bodily danger, or physical or emotional harm to any member of school personnel and other students.
  10. Soliciting or assisting another to do any act which would subject a student to expulsion, suspension or probation.
  11. Refusing to leave any building or part of a building of the University upon being reasonably directed by a senior officer of the University.
Policy on Hand phone and Radio Headphone
IIC University of Technology prohibits the use of hand phone, radio headphone and other electronic devices doing class session. Hand phones must be deactivated at all time during classes.

Alcoholic Beverages and Other Drugs
IIC University of Technology prohibits the unlawful possession, use, or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol by students and employees in buildings, facilities, grounds, or other property owned and/or controlled by the University.

Eating and Drinking in Class
IIC University of Technology prohibits eating and drinking in all indoor areas, including but not limited to: classrooms, administration office, conference room, lobbies, library and computer room.

Policy for a Smoke-Free Campus Environment
IIC University of Technology has a responsibility to provide employees and students with a safe working and learning environment. Given the fact that smoking is the most significant cause of premature and preventable death. The University is declared to be a "smoke-free" campus. Thus, smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas, including but not limited to: administration offices, private offices, classrooms, conference rooms, lobbies, hallways, stairways, restrooms, library and computer room.

Policy on Sexual Harassment
It is IICUT policy that all employees and students have a right to work or learn in an environment free of discrimination, which encompasses freedom from sexual harassment. The University prohibits sexual harassment of its employees and students in any form. Where there is evidence that school related sexual harassment has been committed, severe disciplinary action will be initiated. Such disciplinary action may include one year suspension and/or the possibility of expulsion.

Policy on Sexual Assault
Rape is the most prevalent, serious, violent crime. Rape, including acquaintance rape, or any other form of sexual assault, will not be tolerated by the University. Where there is evidence that school related sexual assault has been committed, severe disciplinary action will be initiated. Such disciplinary action may include, after due process, the possibility of expulsion.

Policy on Nondiscrimination of the Basis of Sex
IIC University of Technology does not discriminate on the basis of sex in the educational programs or activities it conducts. Such programs and activities include admission of students and employment.

Policy on Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Age, Marital Status or Religion
IIC University of Technology does not discriminate on the basis of age, marital status, religion or sexual preference.

Policy on Campus Parking
The University prohibits parking in reserved, officials used or restricted areas.

Policy on School Attire
The University prohibits wearing short pants and slippers on campus.

Financial Obligation
Enrollment at IICUT incurs certain obligations and commitments on the part of an individual student, one of which is the student's responsibility to pay on a timely manner all financial amounts owed to the University. Students with financial difficulty should immediately contact IICUT Administration Office for assistance and guidance.

Debts owed to the University
Should a student or former student fail to pay a debt owed to the University, the University may "withhold permission to register, to receive services, materials, or any combination of the above from any person owing a debt" until the debt is paid. For example, the University may withhold permission to request official transcripts of grades from any person owing a debt. A debtor student is one who:
  1. Fails to pay any fine, fee, charge or debt due to the University.
  2. Fails to return or pay the replacement cost of any library book or equipment issued on loan.
